About Us

Renal Associates of Grand Rapids was founded in September 1973 by William G. Bouman, MD, Alberta A. Garbaccio, MD, and John W. Pierce, MD.  At the time, these physicians were practicing in the Saint Mary’s Hospital.

Renal Associates of Grand Rapids was later renamed to the current business name, Renal Associates of West Michigan, P.C. after expanding outside of the metro-Grand Rapids area.

Renal Associates of West Michigan, P.C. sets the standard for Nephrology practice in the Western Michigan area by incorporating our beliefs in compassion, integrity, and respect for the individual into the overall care plan for each of our valued patients.

We see all stages of Chronic Kidney Disease, from our Clinic, to Dialysis, to managing the patient’s Vascular Access, and to Kidney Transplantation.
